Schedule & Classes for 2010—2011 Season

Classes will begin in September and are filled on a first come basis.

*Advanced classes and Dance Companies require special permission to join.

Company Dance Team
(7th—12th)

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no classes on: Good Friday, Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving recess (Tues—Fri), and during December, February and April school vacations.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Dance 1/Dance 2(Creative movement, Ballet & Tumble)
This class will introduce students to dance. With age-appropriate music, exciting activities and fun lesson plans, children will develop a love of dance and movement.

Jazz/Tap Combo
This hour long class will introduce children to both jazz and tap. Class time will be divided to allow 40 minutes of learning basic jazz steps and choreography and 20 minutes of beginner tap moves. Set to age appropriate popular music, students will improve coordination and build self confidence while having fun.

Hip Hop Jazz
This high energy hour long class combines the elements of current hip hop moves and teaches fundamental jazz steps. Set to upbeat music this is the DSN most popular class.

Tap
Students will be taught tap technique, combinations and rhythms.

Company Dance Team
Our company dance team is for the serious dancer looking to join a fast paced advanced hip hop jazz class. In addition to Company, students will be required to take an additional hip hop jazz class of their choice. Along with our annual recital performances, company will compete in a local dance competition. AUDITION REQUIRED AUGUST 30, 2010 7:00pm—8:30pm.
